Join us for a special presentation by Francisco Guajardo, CEO of the Museum of South Texas History, as he shares one of South Texas' most remarkable true stories. In 2002, a wayward San Diego, Texas, plumber inadvertently found a stash of hundreds of 19th-century gold coins under a house, uncovering a discovery that would capture national attention and lead to an extraordinary legacy. Today, that gold resides in the MOSTHistory collections. The story of the gold, the family estate, and a large scholarship fund stems from this incredible South Texas story. Come hear the fascinating details behind this extraordinary discovery, enjoy great food, and connect with fellow council members.
