DESCRIPTION:\nMixer: 5:30 - 6:00 pm\n Dinner/In Person Presentation: 6:00 - 7:00 pm\n RSVPs as soon as possible\n \n\n David Armstrong is a serial entrepreneur from a family of entrepreneurs who was exposed early on to the many trials of small business ownership, from the cyclical ebb and flow of daily business activity to the more uncomfortable topics like succession planning and family favoritism.  Deciding to “find his own way,” David accepted a tennis scholarship to the University of Texas – Rio Grande Valley, where he earned his BBA in Accounting and MBA in General Business. Upon graduation, David served as the director for the SBA’s Small Business Development Center at the University for 2 years, before accepting an offer to help a client, where he spent 5 years helping to build a $20,000,000 business from the ground up.\n\n Transitioning to self-employment in his late 20s, he has since owned, operated, and (mostly successfully) exited 8 businesses. Most recently, in 2019 he sold Core Business Solutions and Copy Zone to a private equity group and briefly retired, but soon decided it would be much more fun to put his hard-earned experience to work helping others navigate the same hurdles he overcame.\n\n David is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Exit Planning Adviser (CEPA). He is currently an active angel investor with the RGV Angels Group and an investor in several small businesses. He and his equally qualified partners at Xcelerate Financial Advisors specialize in maximizing value at the SMB level through the application of strategic, financial, human resources, marketing, and information technology (IT) practices for business owners wanting to maximize their business value on exit or conversely, manage a successful transition to the next generation.\n
