John is a graduate of Texas A&I University in Kingsville, Texas and Commonwealth College of Sciences in Houston, Texas where he served as President of the Class and received the Bill Pierce Award for Professional Funeral Service Practice. John is a member of the McAllen Rotary Club and served as President in 1983. He is a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in McAllen and is active in the McAllen Chamber of Commerce and the McAllen Heritage Center, serving on the Board of Directors of the MHC. The funeral home is a 60 year member of the Order of The Golden Rule and John has served three times on the national board of OGR\n\n\n
