Jimmy Carter and Sarah Maldonado, partners at JW Carter Law in San Antonio, where they focus on probate and trust litigation.
Jimmy is a board-certified civil trial lawyer with decades of trial experience and notable appellate successes. He earned his law degree from Baylor University School of Law. His honors include the San Antonio Business Journal's 2016 Outstanding Lawyer Award and the 2017 Peacemaker Award for his work on David's Law, Texas' anti-bullying legislation. He serves as president of the San Antonio chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates.
Sarah leads the firm's appellate practice and has successfully litigated hundreds of cases across Texas. She earned her law degree from St. Mary's University School of Law. In 2025, she was recognized as one of the San Antonio Business Journal's "40 Under 40." She is a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation.
Together, they conducted an extensive research project analyzing thousands of Texas probate cases dating back to the 1800s. The result is a proprietary database designed to identify patterns, examine factors that influence case outcomes, and uncover valuable insights for attorneys practicing in estate and probate litigation.
